Weinsberg is an all-new marque for the
British market that is being launched here for
the 2015 season.
It is currently being sold exclusively in
Britain by Premium Motorhomes in its new
showroom in Bawtry near Doncaster, South
Yorkshire.
The German motorhomes are manufactured
by the highly respected Knaus-Tabbert at its
factories in Germany and Hungary.
All models available to UK buyers will be
in right-hand drive format and have been
competitively priced and specified.
There will be a range of models on offer
at Premium, from Weinsberg’s low profile
coachbuilts under the CaraCompact
(pictured) and CaraLoft names to the
manufacturer’s range of van conversions
wearing the CaraVan and CaraBus names.
With all models being based on the
recently facelifted Fiat Ducato and sitting
on Fiat’s super-lightweight chassis, the new
2015 Weinsberg range’s appeal is not just its
price but also its focus on build quality.
The Bus range of five van conversions
includes two two-berths with fixed rear
doubles, a new four-berth model (the
601 K) with bunk bed-style twin doubles at
the rear, another four-berth with a drop-down
double above the lounge and a fixed rear
double and, finally, a long-wheelbase van
conversion with twin rear singles.
New in the Compact range is the 600
MEG, which features twin rear singles that
rise to reveal large storage below, and
central washroom and kitchen.
Completing the line-up is the CaraHome
range of four-berth overcab coachbuilts and
the CaraLoft low-profile coachbuilts.
As well as offering the new Weinsberg
motorhomes for sale in the UK, Premium
Motorhomes also offers full manufacturer
warranty support as a service centre agent
for all Knaus motorhome products.
While prices for the new range of
Weinsberg motorhomes and campervans
will be confirmed at the October’s NEC
show in Birmingham, it is likely the low-
profile coachbuilts will start well below
£40,000.

The 2015 range of British-built Tribute
coachbuilts are completely new, while the
van conversion range gets a makeover.
Auto-Trail, which manufactures the Tribute
coachbuilt range, took the decision to stop
building on Ford’s Transit last year, preferring
instead to now build all Tributes on the latest
version of Fiat’s Ducato.
Despite the change of base vehicle, the
models still mirror last year’s Ford-based
motorhomes – five offer front and rear
lounges, including one French bed layout.
But the Tribute’s body shape has
completely changed. The square-bodied
Tribute styling is gone, replaced by the very
same coachwork as mainstream Auto-Trail
motorhomes.
Optional overcab pods come with double
bed (Hi-Line) or storage (Lo-Line).
Tribute furniture and upholstery is also
refreshed for next season and kitchens get a
pop-up mains socket tower and there’s also
a Thetford half-height stove.
Just as last year, the range of Italian-built
Tribute campervan models number just two,
based on the long wheelbase Fiat Ducato
and again, daytime running lights are a
standard fitment.
New seats improve driver and passenger
comfort and the cup and mobile phone
holder is present and correct.
As with the coachbuilts, a spare wheel is
fitted as standard.
Front ends are as expected and have a half-
dinette with rear travel seats, while the midship
areas house the kitchen and bathroom.
But the difference is in the rear as the
Tribute 669 houses two transverse double
beds (bunk-style), while the Tribute 670
houses a twin-sofa lounge.
Detail changes include
new-style furniture and
worktops with new
upper locker lighting.
Other
enhancements include
a USB charge point in
the lounge and a stylish
new control panel.
In the kitchen, drawers are now soft-
close, but more importantly there’s now a
full oven/grill and heating is newly provided
by Truma’s Combi boiler (last year’s model
came with diesel-fired heating).
