Elddis has been busy not only in preparation
for its 2015 launch of new motorhomes and
caravans, but also because this year it is
celebrating its fiftieth anniversary.
However, back to its 2015 launch and
it will be unveiling its new season of
motorhomes, all of which are built on the
revamped and improved Peugeot Boxer
chassis, at the NEC this October.
Details prior to going to print were sketchy
but we know that, following the success of
the Elddis Accordo that was launched last
year, the Consett-based motorhome
and caravan manufacturer has
enhanced the range further,
adding new layouts – the 135 and
the 140.
As one would expect from
Elddis, prices are competitive
across the Accordo range, starting
at £36,899 for the Accordo 105 and
reaching £37,199 for the new 135 and
current 125 models.
The company has also confirmed 2015
prices for its very popular Autoquest range.
Prices start at £33,599 for the Autoquest
115 and top out at £38,599 for the range-
topping Autoquest 180.
A £1,225 Lux Pack is available on the
Autoquest, which includes cab
air-conditioning, passenger
airbag, cruise control, Midi Heki
rooflight, electric omnistep and
leisure battery.
There is an on-the-road charge of £1,350
which is in addition to prices mentioned.
All of Elddis’ motorhomes – including
its popular dealer specials for the likes of
Marquis – are fully bonded using its industry-
leading SoLiD construction, which is backed
by a free 10-year body integrity and water
ingress warranty.
Frankia has made major changes to its
motorhomes for the coming season.
Gone is wood from the construction
process, while weight has been shed across
the range and all models now come with a
double floor. Weight savings of around 80kg
are likely to be seen on 3,500kg models
over the coming season, thanks to Frankia’s
unique new furniture construction which
sees lightweight balsawood used... but only
where you won’t feel it.
The weight savings continue with a new
composite double floor (saving 12kg). The
result is a 550kg payload for standard
130bhp models on the Ducato 35L coupled
with a low-frame Al-Ko chassis.
Frankia, which is the German arm of
the French Pilote Group, has always been
known for its big motorhomes but it’s
now also introducing a new range – the
Selection – which brings its
offering down into the
all-important 3,500kg
weight class.
Three models
complete the
Selection line-up: the
T 72 FD-L offering a
French bed; the T 72 GD-L; and the T 72
GD-H coming with single beds available in
either low or high versions.
The French bed version, in particular, is
worth a close look as it has unusually good
access into the washroom (thanks to an
extra-wide, sliding door), while a lack of
furniture right at the foot of the bed means
getting into bed is nearly as easy as in an
island bed model.
Last year we were blown away by the
sheer range of standard kit on Frankia’s
Platinum Edition – so much so that it went
on to become the 2014 Luxury Motorhome
of the Year.
Well, the Platinum is back for 2015 with
even more equipment, as Platinum Plus, but
it is the all-new Lounge Edition that’s caught
our attention.
The drop-down cab bed, front lounge
and centre galley are all much as you’d
expect. Turn left as you enter the habitation
door, however, and you’re in for a surprise:
nestling beneath triple sunroofs is a second
lounge with a generous settee facing a 39in
TV – the largest available in 12V format!
