This year Britain’s largest motorhome
manufacturer launches all-new Escape,
Esprit and Bessacarr models, introduces
a new coachbuilt range called the Rio,
enhances its Autocruise, Bolero and Kon-
Tiki ranges and introduces its SMART wood-
free construction on all coachbuilts.
Repositioning of its ranges now sees the
Escape sitting at entry level, then comes the
all-new Rio, the Esprit and Bessacarr, finally
ending up at the Bolero and Kon-Tiki Black
Editions.
The Rio is a van conversion-sized
coachbuilt. The two models in the range are
6.40m long, roughly the same size as the
extra-long Fiat panel vans.
The Esprit and Bessacarr ranges
have been redeveloped, with a new
GRP low profile as well as a slightly
more bulbous integrated version
that reveals the presence of a drop-
down bed. All models are built on
a lower chassis and, with a recessed
awning (standard on Bessacarrs) and a
wider track chassis, the body can be made
wider and thus offer more interior space.
Meanwhile, the Escape has been
enhanced and specification is now
based on the level of last year’s
Esprit and E400 models.
The Bolero will be joining
the Kon-Tiki in the Black
Edition form. This means better
specification.
Meanwhile at Swift’s van
conversion company, Autocruise,
we see specification and design
changes for the 2015 season. But the really
big news from Autocruise for 2015 is that
there will be an all-new model launched. It
will be known as the Chorus and marries
a transverse fixed double to a full dinette
lounge at the front, although you’ll have
to wait until early in 2015, probably at the
February NEC show in Birmingham, to see
this all-new van conversion in the metal.
