Hymer DuoMobil
Designed to meet the needs of a couple
on tour, the DuoMobil is a new addition
to Hymer’s prestigious B SL range, but
with a completely new layout. And it’s a
layout that will surprise and delight UK
customers, as this is a luxury A-class
motorhome with a rear lounge.
Better still, you won’t have to disturb
the lounge at night as the DuoMobil has
a drop-down bed up front. Not your
average drop-down bed, though, as this
one can be used either as a conventional
transverse double or two lengthways
singles (1.99m and 2.06m long) – thus
overcoming the need to climb over your
partner in the night.
If you do need to use the bathroom,
then the full-width en suite facilities of
the DuoMobil will further impress. This is
a true changing room too with extra large
wardrobe, and the separate shower is
very generously proportioned. The whole
en suite bathroom and bedroom area can
also be closed off from the rest of the
motorhome with a solid door.
Although the layout is unusual, this
Hymer has all the features you’d expect
of an upmarket Hymer vehicle, including
a full double floor and a garage boasting
twin loading doors, 121cm internal height
and a 450kg loading capacity.
Based on a high-spec Fiat Ducato with
Al-Ko chassis, the 4,500kg DuoMobil can
optionally be upgraded to 4.8 tonnes.
Standard features, meanwhile, extend
to Alde heating, a 190-litre fresh water
tank, 160Ah gel battery, 160-litre fridge/
freezer, a GRP roof and automatic air-
conditioning in the cab. Neat features
include a laptop locker in the lounge and
an underfloor laundry basket, as well as
multi-position rear headrests.
