Use the medium detail brush and burnt umber with ultramarine to paint the tree trunks and main branches then, using the half rigger, add the twigs, finer branches and the fence. FINISHED PAINTING Using the foliage brush and burnt sienna, stipple the shady side of the tree; for a darker shade use shadow colour with burnt sienna. Trees are a fascinating subject to paint, and are made more interesting by the ever- changing four seasons.
