In its wet state, it comes to a fine point, so that you can work on large areas yet also use it for fine detail.Wash over the shaded parts on the young woman’s face and in her hair with the moistened watercolour brush. The graphite strokes are completely or partly diluted according to the desired effect. Use the body of the brush for washing large areas and the point of the brush for fine details. Leave the light-reflecting parts blank. Finally, wash over the hair again and, in the areas that are still wet, draw in the darkest accents. Using the wet brush you can pick up the rich pigments from these dark areas and emphasise the tones of the face, for example around the eyes.Add some hatching in the larger shaded areas around the cheeks and neck, diluting it here and there with the brush.Work on the jacket a little more, indicating the fabric texture; a further wash darkens the grey tone.
