Start Art 8 17 www.painters-online.co.uk RT START STAGE 3 Carefully smudge the background with your fingers until there are no more lines to be seen here and the surface is a fairly uniform shade of grey. Using the HB graphite pencil, draw some small, fine hairs in the fur and then lightly smudge the area around the muzzle, behind the head and at the throat, as well as on the animal’s forehead, using your fingers. Finally, draw more small fine hairs over the smudged areas using the HB graphite pencil to add some depth to the texture of the fur. Smudge the background and parts of the dog.
