Our Sunseekers are built for us by Elddis, part of the Erwin Hymer Group, Europe’s leading manufacturer of motorhomes. Here at West Country Motorhomes, we are again unique. We display our Sunseekers alongside the standard Autoquest and Accordo models from Elddis – so, you can compare and contrast for yourselves. You also have the reassurance that we have been selling Sunseekers since 2004. In other words, they have a strong pedigree which, in turn, means excellent residual values. For 2019, we’ve added to the range. We now have two van conversions – Sunseeker CV20 and Sunseeker CV40. Both are based on the excellent Fiat Ducato, with 2.3-litre 130bhp engine, also with the option of automatic transmission. They join a range of six coachbuilts using the most popular layouts. These are based on Peugeot’s Boxer, with 130bhp engine. Sales Manager Steve Taylor explains the Sunseeker heritage: “The Sunseeker name started life with West Country Motorhomes in 2004. The name was previously used by Elddis, but when it retired its Sunseeker range in 2003 we quickly acquired the title, feeling it was well suited for our own ‘dealer specials’. “Our first Sunseeker range consisted of five models, from two- to six-berth, with a starting price of £23,995 going up to £25,995. The range was, as it is today, based on the Elddis Autoquest but with a number of enhancements. Back then, that included features such as removable carpets, oven, Heki rooflight and blown air heating. All things you would now expect to find as standard. “Over the years the Sunseeker range has changed and the enhancements have increased, but the name has remained and has become one of the best known special edition ranges, with hundreds of Sunseekers criss-crossing the UK and Europe.” And yes, we still get asked if they are made by the same company that make Sunseeker boats (spoiler alert: they’re not)!
