Potato Review

44 POTATO REVIEW JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2021 MACHINERY Dewulf launches new four-row self-propelled harvester DEWULF has launched a new four-row self-propelled sieving harvester, the Enduro, for growers and agricultural contractors that harvest potatoes, following its biggest introduction campaign in 75 years. Dewulf introduced the Enduro during a large, international, live online unveiling. A self-propelled sieving harvester on tyres, it is the result of several years’ intensive development, with input from agricultural contractors and potato growers. It is equipped with new technologies in the areas of ground pressure, product cleaning and ow, and bu er capacity, and also contains the familiar Dewulf technology that has proven its added value time and again on many potato elds. Dewulf developed the Enduro with three key concepts in mind: Product-friendliness, capacity and ease of use. Ground pressure is as low as 1.5 kg/cm2, achieved through a system of weight distribution over three axles and by the optional tyres with VF technology. Dewulf calls the ensemble of technologies that result in the harvester’s low ground pressure ‘Soil-Saver’. Because the machine’s centre of gravity is located further to the rear, the Enduro also ensures that the ridges will not be damaged by the front wheels, even in wet conditions. Just like the Kwatro, the manufacturer’s other four-row sieving harvester, the Enduro has no constrictions along its sieving webs. This results in optimal sieving capacity throughout the machine. The driver can adjust the inclination of the cleaning module between 0° and 12°, based on the cleaning need in the field and the module with axial rollers can be bypassed at any inclination angle for greater flexibility. e Enduro’s ring elevator uses a patented new technology. Capacity and product- friendliness were combined in this ring elevator, which was given the name ‘Fill- Tastic’. e ring elevator has a high capacity of 200 tonnes/h and achieves this at a very potato-friendly speed, which is automatically regulated via a sensor. e 2-part bunker with discharge elevator, with a practical volume of 10 tonnes, is the largest in its segment. Because the xed bunker oor is followed by a discharge elevator with bar webs, excess soil is sieved out during unloading. e Enduro’s discharge elevator reaches over 4 full rows, so you can always easily unload into a tipper. While doing so, the tipping top ensures a product-friendly process, as the drop height of the product into the tipper is always kept to a minimum.
