Social media platforms Business website Having an up-to-date website is an essential part of having a successful online strategy for your business. An up-to-date website demonstrates to your customers that your business is active and engaged with its online audience. You are providing your customers with the most up-to-date information about products and services, and giving them a better overall experience. Importantly, it also acts as the base for all marketing assets to point to such as LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter etc. If you are spending time, effort and money on your digital marketing assets such as images, designs, videos and paid campaigns, if your website hasn’t been updated in over three months and you are just pointing the social traffic (your customers) to a static homepage, you’re ending the user experience and cancelling out the funnel. So, the most important thing is to keep your website up-to-date with relevant information and content that keeps the user engaged after they’ve clicked on your social media post. There are a number of service providers to build websites in with simple interfaces including WIX, GoDaddy, SquareSpace or if you want a bit more control you can look at the many Wordpress templates available. LinkedIn Posting on LinkedIn can be a great way to promote your business and personal brand. Ensure you create a business and personal page. Best practice is to share content that is relevant to your industry and share your own experiences, insights, and resources. Additionally, try to engage with other LinkedIn users in the comments section, and be sure to reply to incoming messages in a timely manner. Finally, don’t forget to include a professional profile photo that reflects your brand and customise your profile with a relevant background image. If the content is related to your business, then it would be best to post it on your business page. If it’s more personal content, such as a blog post or sharing your professional experience, then it would be best to post it on your own page. LinkedIn is seen as a tool for networking for individuals so when the content is personal to you or if you are trying to get people to engage and potentially get in touch with you try to favour your own profile as LinkedIn wants people talking to people. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide what type of content you want to share and which profile you want to share it on. Instagram Instagram is 95% visual; a business should use visual content to attract its desired audience’s attention and get its point across. Construction businesses can use Instagram to showcase the projects they are working on, highlight their team and the skills they bring to the job, and connect with potential customers who can benefit from their services. By creating engaging visuals and captions, businesses can also use Instagram to educate their followers on the latest trends and innovations in the industry, offer helpful advice including how to videos, and keep their followers up-to-date on current business and industry events. Additionally, companies can use Instagram to run contests and giveaways, connect with influencers and other businesses, and promote their services. TikTok TikTok is another way construction businesses can create engaging and informative videos about their projects. They can showcase the unique aspects of their work, share tips and tricks on building techniques, and feature interviews with their staff. Furthermore, they can use TikTok’s hashtag feature to join in on already-trending conversations and connect with other professionals in the industry. By creating engaging and informative content, construction businesses can not only reach a larger audience but also build their brand awareness and attract new talent to their workforce. Facebook Facebook is a predominantly B2C platform that can be used to reach potential customers, create brand awareness, and showcase work. It can also be a platform to share project photos, post updates on upcoming projects and share helpful tips and information related to the construction industry. Additionally, Facebook can be used to respond to customer enquiries through themessenger feature, and engage with the local and wider communities by offering discounts and special promotions. Twitter As the platformcontinues to evolvewith its newownership, it is likely that new features and updateswill be introduced to keep users engaged andmake it easier to use. Additionally, Twitter has become a part of themainstream culture, and remains a popular platformfor sharing opinions, news and stories. All of thesewebsites and platforms are easy to use andwill provide the functionality that a business requires to create, post andmanage their desired content all free of charge.
