www.thefis.org 7 Training awards HAVE YOU ENTERED THE TRAINING AWARDS YET? FIS runs a number of award schemes to promote and encourage high levels of craftsmanship and best practice; they recognise the outstanding contributions and achievements of individuals in the finishes and interiors sector. T he newTraining Awards, which have been jointly developed by FIS and the Worshipful Company of Plaisterers, celebrate excellence in plastering and interior trades and the deadline for entries is 15 August 2022. The Awards include the following occupational areas: • dryliners; • ceilingfixers; • partition installers; • plasterers; • carpenters and joiners; • flooring installers; and • steel framed systemerectors. The Training Awards will celebrate the achievement of: • studentswho have exceeded expectations; • the delivery of training by colleges and training providers; • training delivery by an FISmember company; •mentors and otherswho have supported sector training; and • a lifetime contribution to sector training. Training Awards will be presented to: •TheApprentice of theYear; •The PlasteringTrades Apprentice of theYear; • InteriorTrades Colleges and Independent Training Providers (large) • Colleges and IndependentTraining Providers (small) • FISMemberTraining Programme • LifetimeAchievement Award •Mentors’ AwardStudent of theYear • PlasteringTrades Student of theYear (InteriorTrades) The closingdate for entries is 15August 2022. How to enter All entries are to be submitted on the appropriate online nomination formwith full contact details of the person responsible for the entry. At the judges’ discretion, further information may be requested by virtual means or site visits.The judging panel’s decisionwill befinal.
