Personally, I view a new year as starting a new chapter in your life both personal and work. I believe it gives us an opportunity to evaluate and then draw a line under the past year. It’s then our chance with refreshed hope and ambitions to write an incredible story in 2023. Happy New Year! In this issue on page 18 we take a look at the positive outlook for women in construction however, there is still more work that needs to be done. Two FIS members and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) share with us how they are encouraging women to join the sector and how they support and inspire them to flourish and stay in the industry. The awards season was in full swing and on page 22 the winners are revealed at the 2022 Training Awards. The Training Awards are a collaboration between FIS and theWorshipful Company of Plaisterers to recognise and celebrate the achievements of both students and apprentices at the start of their journey in the industry. Alongside these, there were awards for the best professional achievements in the finishing and interiors sector and various training organisations large and small.
