www.thefis.org 29 PPG upholds EcoVadis Gold Rating for sustainability progress, ranking among top 8% of evaluated companies PPG announced that it has maintained a Gold Rating in corporate social responsibility from EcoVadis, which is a trusted business sustainability rating platform. PPG ranked higher than 92% of evaluated companies. The company earned high scores for its environmental, ethics, and sustainable procurement practices. PPG recently expanded assessment of its global supply base utilising EcoVadis’ four sustainability categories. By the end of 2021, more than 67% of invited PPG suppliers had responded to the assessment, many of which performed above the EcoVadis average. EcoVadis experts evaluate company performance on 21 factors grouped into four categories: environment, labour, human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Each company is assessed in these areas based on size, location, and industry. The rating methodology is based on international sustainability standards and initiatives, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, United Nations Global Compact, and ISO 26000 standard (social responsibility). www.ppg.com Overbury announces new MD for Major Projects team Mark Chain has been promoted to Managing Director of Overbury’s London based Major Projects team. Major Projects, based in London, delivers commercial refurbishment and fit-out projects ranging from £8m to over £500m. Mark will now lead this experienced team, which consists of 210 people, as they deliver flagship projects for some of the UK’s best- known brands. The team prides itself on its collaborative approach, repeat business ethos, and ensuring that clients always come first. Mark joined the business as a college leaver 24 years ago on a management trainee scheme. He has worked in both Overbury’s Bracknell and Manchester offices and has spent the last 20 years with the Major Projects team, the last 12 years as commercial manager.
