7 Bushcrafted took on the refurbishment of this popular ground floor and basement restaurant in Holland Park, which has served A-list celebrities since 1969. As part of the project, eclectic fixtures and fittings, including panelling, carvings, plaster mouldings, glass display cases and leaded stained glass, were removed for renovation in Bushcrafted’s workshop. Walls were also removed, steels installed and, to provide additional headroom, the basement was excavated and tanked. Concealed heating, cooling and ventilation were incorporated into all areas, alongside original fixtures and fittings where possible, and new basement restrooms, kitchens, wine storage, bars and dumbwaiters were provided. A hardwood timber staircase, along with a variety of stud and GypLyner walls, MF coffered ceiling designs, cornices, specialist lighting and joinery were fitted in the dining areas. These werematched with specialist paint finishes and stone and wooden flooring to recreate the ambience of the original restaurant. During the programme, the client purchased the adjoining building, enabling additional kitchen space, offices and disabled facilities to be incorporated at ground floor level.
