6 Buxton Crescent was built in the 1780s, but the Grade 1 listed building fell into disrepair and in 2003work began to convert it into a hotel and tourist attraction. The hotel now has 81 bedrooms and a spa featuring a refurbished Victorian pool filled with heated Buxton mineral water. In 2017, BWShrimpton was contracted by Vinci Construction to design, supply and install metal stud partitions, acoustic and decorative ceilings, plastering and fire protection work on this prestigious building. The works were originally scheduled to be completed within 12months, but the building’s deterioration, complexities and unique features meant the contract exceeded two and a half years, taking inmore than 100 different wall and ceiling types and hundreds of drawings and details.
