16 The University House project – a new-build on the University of Birmingham’s campus –was constructed to create an additional learning block within the university’s existing Birmingham Business School. The design included a direct link between the new and existing buildings. Taylor Hart installed all the drylining on the project – including stud partitions, linings, MFmargins and ceilings – to create new office and learning spaces, along with an atrium area. The drywall works also included bespoke blind box details using plasterboard and a series of shadow gap details around exposed concrete columns, doors and skirtings. Taylor Hart used off-sitemanufacturing for the construction and cutting of components such as deflection heads, builders’ work openings, door sets and pattresses.
