7 As principal contractor, AQConstruction installed this lounge for American Express inHeathrow Terminal 3. The project included the construction and internal fit-out of a reception, lounge, bar andworking areas, as well as toilet facilities, back-of-house kitchens and staff welfare rooms; construction of external roof plant; and the fit-out of remote food preparation area, stores and laundry. The lounge included a terrazzo raised floor, cast in situ, with floor and carpet tiles. The entrance featured a mosaic tiled floor, moss art wall andAmerican black walnut wall panelling, with a corporate logo featurewall. Custom joinery pieces included a black granite and dark bronze bar with brass-effect fin ceiling, and a blue veneer andmarble reception desk. AQ installed granite and timber beverage stations and buffet counters, and an illuminated London skyline fretwork featurewall behind a contrasting slatted timber wall. The ceilingwas coffered around structural steelwork in plasterboard, with luminaires providing discrete lighting. Staff areas includedmetal clip-in and tiles. Restrooms were fitted with ceramics and custom sanitary ware, with faucets, showers, thermostatic controls and accessible facilities.
