Ourplanwas toexplore thecoastal
route inNorthumberlandandweused
thiscampsiteasabase.Frankly,we
couldn’thavechosenbetter.
Ina fantastic locationoverlooking
the sea, theview from theentrance
to the site isbreathtaking: to the left
ismajesticBamburghCastleand
Holy Island, straightahead
are theFarne Islands
and to the right,
thebusy,working
harbourofSeahouses.
Whata sight towake
up toeveryday!
Wevisitedmanyof the
coastal townsandvillagesbybus,
which stopsa fewminutes’walkaway
from the site,and it ispossible toalso
visitBerwick,Newcastleand lotsof
places inbetween.We foundagood
tourist information shop in townwith
detailsof themany localcoastalwalks
aswellas tripsboth inlandandalong
thecoastal roads.
Oneof themain reasons to stay
in this small seaside town,and
particularlyat this site, is that there
are severalcompaniesofferingboat
trips toandaround theFarne Islands
whereyoucan see the seabirdnesting
sitesanda largecolonyofgrey seals.
The facilitiesonofferatSeafield
are firstclass.The showerblock is
bright,warm, spaciousandeven
includesabath,alongwithexcellent
facilities forpeoplewithdisabilities,
and laundry/washupareas.Thereare
just18 fully serviced ‘superpitches’on
the site,allwith freeWiFi.
Included in the site
fee is freeentry to the
OceanClub,which
hasaheated indoor
pool, sauna, steam
room, jacuzzi,gym
and fitness suite
alongsidea spaand
beauty room.
There isalsoabarand restaurant
(withapet-friendlyarea),which
offeredmeals,alongwithevening
