Stipple lower down with Hooker’s green. 2 Colour: Hooker’s green, olive green Brush: 13mm (½in) Round bristle brush Notes: Mask the edge of the church with a paper mask to preserve the edge, then stipple Hooker’s green, then olive green to suggest the undergrowth here. 3 Colour: Olive green Brush: No. 8 Round brush Notes: Paint the undergrowth around the church to re-establish the edges of the building. 4 Colour: Green gold, Hooker’s green Brush: 13mm (½in) Round bristle brush Notes: Stipple green gold on the three trees on the right, then stipple Hooker’s green onto all the trees, using a paper mask to protect the edge of the church when needed. 5 Colour: Raw sienna, burnt umber Brush: No. 12 Round brush Notes: Paint the footpath with raw sienna, then drop in burnt umber, wet- in-wet, for texture. 6 Colour: Blue-green (a mix of Hooker’s green and cobalt blue) Brush: No. 8 Round brush Notes: Paint the tree trunks behind the main trees on the left. 7 Colour: Greenish brown (a mix of burnt umber and olive green), French ultramarine Brush: No. 12 Round brush Notes: Paint the main tree trunks with greenish brown, then add ultramarine and paint the darker mix down the right- hand sides. 8 Colour: Hooker’s green, green gold Brush: 2.5cm (1in) wash brush Notes: Using Hooker’s green, stipple downhill from the trees to the path. Stipple patches of green gold to suggest sunlight filtering through the trees. Stage 2 START RT
