A registered charity, it aims to help them build con dence, be more resilient, raise aspirations, develop new skills and take positive risks in a positive environment which o ers co-operation and support. e donated items were being used to help transform the Getaway Girls new headquarters and the project was due to be featured on the BBC One series ‘DIY SOS: e Big Build’. Founded in 1981 as Skipton Hire Centre Ltd, SHC was one of the rst companies to be awarded the HAE’s prestigious ‘SafeHire’ accreditation back in 2001 and has since received a number of other awards and accreditations over the years, including ‘Hire Company of the Year’ and the HAE’s much sought-after ‘Excellence in Customer Care’. It has also won the ‘Excellence in Training’ award. At the time of going to press, TV crews had been recording the project which was due to be aired by the BBC during the winter months.
