A s we celebrate the one-year anniversary of HireSecure, the short period hire insurance solution for HAE EHA members, we re ect on the journey that got us here. Members were telling us that the paperwork and time required for our previous insurance solution were too onerous. ey required each member to become an Appointed Representative (AR) – in order to conduct UK-regulated activities without having to be directly authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Taking this on board HAE conducted a thorough review of solutions available and appointed Towergate Insurance Brokers as our new insurance partner – with its innovative Loss and Damage Waiver product, HireSecure. HireSecure removes all requirements for members to be an AR and will generally be set up within 10 working days, although shorter time frames can be accommodated by exception. e switch date usually dictated by updates to member’s hire software to re ect the switch to HireSecure. ere is no speci c training requirement for HireSecure. However, if training is needed, there is an online training module and face-to-face support is available to help members promote and sell HireSecure, as well as overcoming any customer objections. MEMBER FEEDBACK Members who have taken advantage of the service include GR8 Toolhire and MKM, who gave the following feedback: GR8: “As a user of the previous short period insurance facility, we were keen to understand the detail and what bene ts the new solution, HireSecure, would bring to GR8 Tool Hire. “It was refreshing to learn that we no longer needed to be an Appointed Rep, which mean that the ongoing training and annual CPD that was required by the old facility (and did make things di cult to stay compliant) was no longer required. On signing up, we were live in less than ve days (the old facility was eight to 10 weeks from memory), as it’s e ectively the same process as what we did previously. “HireSecure and the Loss Damage Waiver is a very user-friendly product to use from a hire business perspective and with it being insurance backed, gives us and our customers peace of mind. We have no hesitation in recommending it to other hire businesses.” MKM: “MKM have recently expanded into hire, and we explored various options of value-added services for our customers. When HireSecure became available, we had no hesitation in exploring the ease of set-up and administration, which has been a breath of fresh air compared to other facilities available and ones that I have used in the past which required a lot of compliance aspects and annual CPD training. A step-by-step training module has been developed and we have found this to be very informative and of great assistance for new sta members.” AN EVENTFUL FIRST YEAR!
