Summer 2022 41 Point of Rental’s team, along with customers worldwide, have been helping a number of charities at the same time as celebrating 40 years of producing rental software and providing support. Each regional office set fundraising goals for employees and customers to try to match, with the company matching donations. More than 400 pairs of donated shoes were given to Shoes4Souls (South Africa) and Soles4Souls (U.S & Canada), while Shoe Aid (U.K.) received more than £2000. The Australian team raised more than $400 for Big Group Hug, a charity that provides necessities for young mothers. Beyond the company’s regular volunteering, Pointers also went out and served in local community building projects, like Habitat for Humanity and Collingwood Children’s Farm. Point of Rental CEO Wayne Harris said: “We got into this business 40 years ago to help rental business owners have more time to spend with their families, to do more with limited resources. So it makes sense that we’d celebrate this last month by serving. Thank you to all of our software users that donated money to these causes throughout April and, of course, all the Pointers who gave their time, money, and even their shoes to help others.” In addition to service, software app specials, and, of course, “birthday” celebrations worldwide, the company’s leadership teams also met in-person for the first time since late 2019 to start planning the company’s next 40 years. “We have some exciting things coming up internally that we feel are going to enhance our company culture as well as the service and software we’re providing hire companies,” said EMEA Managing Director Mark Goodrum. “We’re figuring out how to best handle a hybrid office while providing an engaging culture and ensuring people walk away from each experience with Point of Rental with a smile on their face.” >> SHOES AND SPECIAL CAUSES HIGHLIGHT 40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS www.hae.org.uk www.eha.org.uk
