10 Spring 2023 MEMBERSHIP NEWS The Green Organisation has bestowed three accolades on Trime, the manufacturer/supplier of sustainable site lighting towers and water-saving equipment wash bays, with the team receiving trophies at the Houses of Parliament. The first award was a Green World Ambassador Award conferred for the company’s X-SOLAR HYBRID lighting tower. The judges recognised Trime’s use of new energy-saving and carbon-reducing systems that are incorporated into the X-Solar Hybrid lighting tower. It is a LED lighting tower powered by a combination of solar energy and battery power, backed up by a fuel-efficient engine- driven battery-charging system to ensure continual illumination. This was swiftly followed by a Green World Award Silver for Trime’s energy-saving X-ECO Lithium Hybrid site lighting towers in the Energy Management category. Finally, the judges handed Trime a Green Apple Environment Award Bronze honour once more for the X-Eco Hybrid Lithium low- emission tower light, this time in the Fuel Efficiency class. This is an LED lighting tower powered by a combination of a lithium battery and a small fuel-efficient HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil) compatible engine. It can be fully recharged in less than two hours, meaning that for 80% of the operation, it is powered exclusively by its batteries therefore emits zero noise and zero carbon emissions. The International Green Apple Environment Awards were established in 1994 and have become one of the world’s most prestigious recognition campaigns. The awards recognise and reward the endeavours of commerce, industry, governments, ministries, departments, agencies, authorities, and individuals who have a beneficial impact on the environment. Every carbon footprint caused by winners and their guests is offset by the planting of trees in cooperation with Green Earth Appeal and the United Nations. A GREEN APPLE HAT TRICK Sunbelt Rentals has invested in 300 solar-powered lighting towers manufactured and supplied by Trime. Sunbelt Rentals’ clients have commented on the ease of operation and low maintenance requirements that the X-Solar lights provide and means Sunbelt Rentals UK and Ireland now has more than 2,000 Trime lighting towers in its fleet. The lights will be deployed on construction sites and outside events throughout the UK and Ireland. These include extremely remote sites such as the Highlands of Scotland. Sunbelt Rentals Sales and Marketing Director Dave Harris said: “This investment highlights the commitment that Sunbelt Rentals is making to provide our customers with equipment that is not only built for purpose but also helping reduce emission outputs and impact on our planet.” Sunbelt Rentals has also made a short video on the use and setup of the towers for customers. 300 SOLAR POWERED TOWERS INVESTMENT
