2022 Awards 03 WELCOME ADDRESS T he past year has been incredibly challenging for many within the hire and rental sector but at the same time we all know that its key strength lies within its resilience and ability to rise to the challenge. We are extremely grateful to our sponsors who have played a major part in making the Hire Awards of Excellence such a huge success in 2022. There has been a record number of entries which far exceeded the number ever received before and meant the judges had some difficult decisions to make, especially when selecting the winners. Jo Caulfield was a perfect host for the Hire Awards of Excellence 2022, her professionalism, wit and delivery was great. Jo was confident in announcing 16 awards categories including winners, highly commended, finalists and sponsors. We would highly recommend Jo for hosting an event. The hire and rental industry is a wonderful sector to work in and offers so many opportunities for those looking to establish a career. The Outstanding Contribution to Hire Award, awarded on behalf of the main board and members of the association, was well deserved by President and outgoing Chair, Brian Sherlock. As Brian so aptly stated, our ability to keep our sector working as an essential supplier and to influence government on the practicalities of trading demonstrates why so many hire businesses rely on the support of the Association, and it’s a privilege to be able to work alongside you all. The Hire Awards of Excellence 2022 are highly valued and respected throughout our industry, and serve to encourage companies and individuals to follow the association’s criteria. << From Paul Gaze, Chief Executive Officer, HAE EHA
