07 The Ground Source Heat Pumps Association held their Heat Pump Conference on Friday 22 October 2021 at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa Skipton, North Yorkshire Heat Pump Conference a resounding success! This year's conference was an opportunity for members to share experiences, to hear presentations on current and future policy in the run up to COP26 and to gather information from sponsors and exhibitors on the latest technical developments in ground source energy. The conference provided a number of opportunities to get together in an informal setting to get expert advice and information in the fine surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales alongside some Yorkshire hospitality. Following the brief AGM (for members) the Conference, which was open to everyone, included a series of coordinated expert panel sessions, presentations and networking opportunities. The Charity Dinner was in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Ricky Tomlinson (Jim from the Royle Family) entertained from the welcome drink on arrival, through a sumptuous three course dinner, and a charity ra—e/auction. Live music followed on! How the day went The day went very well and was attended by all types of people from students to industry leaders. In addition to the first couple of hours, which was the GSHPA annual AGM the focus was to bring people together from all walks of life. Those who had an interest in heat pumps and ground source heating as well as what the future holds, all within the industry landscape in light of the governments new heat incentive. What was achieved The conference achieved bringing people together and also got people talking about ground source and the future. Great discussions were had between delegates as well as networking with likeminded people and there was plenty to talk about. Will there be another Yes, plans are underway for October 2022. To keep geographical inclusivity, we are looking to host further south (the aim is to move these successful events around the country every year.
