Heat Pumps Today
28 A key objective since Hydratech's formation in 1998, has been the establishment of technical partnerships with industry leading renewable energy consultants, contractors and installers. expert fluid and system support for your heat pump project Working with those responsible for heat pump system design, installation and operation, Hydratech utilise their expertise in water treatment chemistry, fluid thermodynamics and mechanical engineering to deliver a fully integrated, holistic approach to heat pump fluid and system management. This in-turn maximises the potential for optimised performance, reduced operational costs and significant return on investment gains. From world-first agritech projects, district heating schemes and major manufacturing plants, to domestic air and ground source heat pump installations, Hydratech's range of specialist heat transfer fluids and suite of engineering services are industry proven to improve heat pump system eciency and reliability. Hydratech’s synergistic approach to fluid and system optimisation encompasses: April | May 2023 A D V E R T O R I A L Pre-commissioning, Flushing, Filling & Maintenance The Hydratech Services division provides specialist engineering and maintenance services to customers installing, commissioning, operating, or optimising heat pump systems. Hydratech’s range of oce and site-based activities include: ° Pre-commission flushing, chemical conditioning and filling with Heat Transfer Fluid (HTF) ° Flushing, reconditioning and refilling of pre-existing systems ° Reactive (retro) design, fabrication, installation and commissioning of Side Stream Filtration Units ° All aspects of chemical treatment for water-based HTF's ° Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programs Contact the team to discuss your project. Fluid thermodynamics, toxicity, corrosion chemistry and aerobic bacteria, are all key considerations when selecting an appropriate formulation, mixing ratio and compatible inhibitor package. By understanding their exact system requirements, the team at Hydratech can specify the optimum fluid solutions and ensure the UK's leading heat pump consultants, installers and end users benefit from improved thermal eciency, extended system life and considerable energy savings. Fluid Monitoring Based on many years of experience, it is not uncommon for the maintenance of renewable energy heating and cooling systems to be overlooked. Under such circumstances various issues can develop, including advanced corrosion, biological fouling and sediment formation. All of which will have a direct and negative impact on heat transfer eciency, pumping performance and energy consumption. Hydratech’s in-house laboratory carries out analytical fluid testing of thermal fluids, primarily microbiological and chemistry testing - to identify water contaminates, bacterial presence, water treatment levels or the make-up of elements.
