Heat Pumps Today
29 When used in conjunction with the best practice Sentinel System of ‘Clean, Protect, Maintain’ these products ensure the long-term effectiveness of heating systems, to achieve optimum performance and reliability. Heating systems can be set up in many ways with different combinations – including underfloor, with a boiler, and some without. Regardless of the set-up, it can suffer from common problems such as: ° Frozen and/or cracked pipes ° Blockages in the system ° Biological contamination Ultimately, these can lead to loss of heat, increased running costs, and a higher risk of costly repairs or breakdown. Ineffective cleaning and treatment of a heat pump system may lead to inefficiency and issues with the wider heating system too. Fortunately, our ‘Clean, Protect, Maintain’ process helps make best practice solutions simple: ° Clean to prepare for greater performance ° Protect to prolong system life and efficiency ° Maintain to ensure durable protection The Sentinel range will help treat systems from installation, through service and maintenance, ensuring efficiency, reliability and cost-effective operation. Quality products which have been developed over many years in the field of water treatment for heating, mean that Sentinel can offer numerous solutions, depending on your needs. The products are easy to handle and apply as well as being proven and trusted in the sector. Heat Pumps The ground source offering is a mix of concentrated and ready to use solutions. Best practice for long-term effectiveness to remove degraded thermal fluid and any residual sludge or deposits, within 20-30 minutes. After cleaning, quality heat transfer fluids are offered as the ready to use R500, or the concentrated R500C, for dilution, and provide corrosion and scale protection for system metals as well as effective frost protection, whilst resisting degradation over time. Air source systems can be cleaned using the traditional X-Range products, X400 or X800, depending on how much time on site or access to a site is available. The specialist thermal fluid R600 provides frost, limescale and corrosion protection and if minimum levels are maintained, the product ensures a permanent protection and does not need to be replaced, as degradation is resisted. For both types of lower temperature installation, X700 Biocide can then be used to prevent fungal contamination and the large capacity Vortex500 filter will provide an extra level of protection against any circulating debris in the system, which can cause wear and premature component failure. Solar thermal circuits (evacuated tube/plate collectors) Two, ready to use, solutions allow continued maintenance and thermal efficiency of solar systems. R200 cleaner is specially-formulated to quickly restore efficient operation of systems where thermal fluid has degraded. It comes in a ready-to-use solution and works in just 20 minutes to remove sludge and deposits. Maintenance is supported by R100 heat transfer fluid; resistant to degradation and providing continuous protection against corrosion in both liquid and vapour states; enhancing system performance and encouraging longer system life. The benefits of a healthy heating system: ° Properties will be warmer, with lower fuel and energy bills ° The risk of breakdowns and callouts will be lower ° Component warranties will be protected For complete peace of mind, make sure your system water is treated with Sentinel.
