The deadline for applicants was 3 September. We received eight applications covering all three priority areas; one diagnostics, two self care and five enhancing the quality of gluten free food. These are now with our newly appointed Research Awards Panel, chaired by Dr Rick Lones, a highly experienced pharmaceutical physician with a track record of over 20 years in medical affairs and drug safety. To find out about the other members on our Research Awards Panel, please visit www.coeliac.org.uk/RAP . The lay summaries for each of the proposed projects have also been shared with our Member Review Panel who will score each of the projects and identify those as a priority for funding. Our Research Awards Panel (RAP) will meet again in November to look at the feedback from external expert reviewers and the scores and comments from the Member Review Panel. The RAP will then make a proposal to our Board of Governors on which projects to fund. We will keep you updated on the projects we fund, so keep an eye out in the next edition of the magazine.
