With system operators looking to have more control over their system and find di erent approaches to minimise energy consumption in processes, Cool-Gauge is said to o er more visibility whilst helping to minimise energy consumption by maintaining optimum viscosity of HTF within systems. Climalife says Cool-Gauge is a low maintenance unit, making it ideal for remote or di cult to access systems. Constant monitoring of the system prevents corrosion and scale build up in systems by maintaining the HTF inbuilt inhibitors, preventing issues, reducing time consumed and of course freeing up resources. Cool-Gauge not only monitors, but in open systems enables automatic dosage of HTF against specific set points which ensures accurate control of the HTF concentration is maintained at all times. In both open or closed systems Cool-Gauge can provide instant notification if HTF levels fall too low, preventing expensive and time-consuming system failures. www.climalife.co.uk PODCAST: IMPROVING FOOD PRODUCTIVITY WITH HUMIDITY Humidity control specialist Condair has released a new podcast about how food manufacturers can enhance their productivity by controlling their production area’s humidity. In a 10-minute interview with BusinessNet Explorer, Dave Marshall-George, sales director at Condair, explains how paying more attention to a manufacturing or storage area’s ambient humidity, can improve manufacturing yield and profits. He explains: “Accurate humidity management in food and beverage production has many benefits. There are a huge range of applications. Humidification is frequently used to reduce evaporative losses, prevent static issues and extend shelf-life of produce. Dehumidification can be employed to more e ciently dry a product, eliminate condensation, reduce cold storage overheads or prevent products sticking to conveyors. “As a humidity control specialist, we work with food and beverage manufacturers to identify areas of potential improvement across a production line, and then implement systems to maintain the ideal environment to realise those benefits. For example, we work in the meat sector to reduce evaporative losses from carcasses during primary chilling, with cheese manufacturers to reduce weight losses during cheese ripening, with bakers to optimise proving and oven baking, and distilleries and wine makers to prevent evaporation through casks.” The podcast is available on Spotify, Google Podcasts, Soundcloud and Apple iTunes by searching for “Condair Podcast”, or on the Condair .co.uk website. www.condair.co.uk LG ADDS AIRCARE COMPLETE LG Electronics has introduced new anti-bacterial technology to its residential air conditioning line-up. The units feature LG’s AirCare Complete system - which combines air filtration with new UV Nano technology. LG DUALCOOL Deluxe and ARTCOOL Mirror are equipped with the new technology, which ensures that air passing through the air conditioning units is clean and keeps the fan 99.99% bacteria free with ultraviolet light. The UV ray emitting LEDs are placed underneath the fan and directly damage the DNA of micro-organisms by rupturing their DNA, making it impossible for them to multiply. Equipped with LG’s advanced DUAL Inverter Compressor, designed with a superior build quality to achieve faster cooling with wider rotational frequency compared to standard AC models. The combination of highly e cient compressors and reversing valves is said to result in powerful performance while minimising energy consumption. Users can check energy use directly with LG’s Energy Display. This function monitors and displays the amount of current and total energy used. Each model is also Wi-Fi compatible, working in conjunction with the LG ThinQ App. The integrated solution provides intuitive control, minimises energy consumption and tracks energy usage and expenditure. It provides improved energy e ciency by utilising a combination of analytics, sensors, and usage data. partner.lge.com/uk DAIKIN ANNOUNCES MODULAR T AHUS Daikin has announced the launch of the new Modular T series, the latest addition to its air handling unit (AHU) portfolio. The manufacturer says the fully optimised design of the compact Modular T, incorporating high-quality components and the latest technology, delivers a long working life and a high level of e ciency, ensuring exceptional indoor air quality. Available from October, the Modular T AHU filters outside air to remove external pollutants prior to supply and simultaneously extracts inside air, decreasing the concentration of indoor pollutants to ensure a constant supply of healthy fresh air. Available in five di erent sizes, with an air flow range from 200 m3/h up to more than 4000 m3/h, the Daikin Modular T is said to o er an exceptional solution for diverse applications including schools, o ces, gyms, shops. www.daikin.co.uk
