October | November 2020 Volume 6 No.6 NEWS 06 FUJITSU EXTENDS APPLIED LINE-UP Fujitsu has added to its applied product line-up with a comprehensive range of direct expansion kits and air handling units. Complementing Fujitsu’s existing VRF DX solutions, the new split system alternative is said to make application into smaller specifications easier and cost eective, spanning a range of 3.5 to 22 kW with capacity demand control. Fujitsu enters a new market with the introduction of its AHU range. The units are designed to meet ERP Lot 6 eŠciency standards, making them a perfect partner to be used with Fujitsu’s Airstage VRF for a DX option. They are available with airflows between 4,300 to 18,100 m3/h and cover a cooling capacity of 25 to 96 kW. Described as a modular system with a flexible approach, the configuration of components allows cross flow and thermal wheel heat recovery, EC inverter plug fans, humidification sections, sound attenuation and electric preheaters to be selected as required. Phil Deverick, Commercial Manager, Fujitsu General Air Conditioning UK, said: “Expanding our DX solutions to accompany third-party products, along with introducing our own AHU range, has seen Fujitsu strengthen its oering to the applied market with a comprehensive solution to meet the most challenging specifications.” LU-VE cools Russia’s biggest CO 2 warehouse LU-VE Group has supplied the cooling system for the biggest food storage warehouse in Russia using CO 2 refrigerant. The Italian manufacturer was awarded the order by Danish merchant ship owner Maersk. In addition to being a leader in refrigerated food transportation, the company has built a logistics centre in St Petersburg for the conservation of fresh and frozen fruit, vegetables and other perishable goods). The structure, built using advanced energy-saving technologies, has a surface area of 23,700 sqm. with storage for 50,000 tons and is capable of managing 200 trucks per day. The centre is equipped with three areas at dierent temperatures (+13°, +6° and -25°) and is the largest Russian structure that uses CO 2 for refrigeration. Value Defender unit coolers (produced at the Lipestk plant in Russia) guarantee significant energy savings by recovering the compression heat of the refrigerant fluid and are installed in the low- and medium-temperature cold rooms. The condensers are Big Giant models, produced in Uboldo, Italy, and equipped with electronic motors to minimize energy consumption. Wolseley unveils cylinder manager Wolseley Climate has introduced a cylinder manager, in partnership with Gas-Trak Online, designed to help contractors improve the management of refrigerant cylinders and provide full F-Gas reporting. Available free to Wolseley Climate customers, the app enables engineers to keep track of their cylinder fleet in real time, while identifying upcoming and current rental charges on cylinders that have passed rent-free periods. Available on desktop and as a mobile app, the cylinder manager also allows engineers to enter refrigerant usage accurately to comply with F-Gas regulations. The manager tracks cylinders from any supplier and those supplied by Wolseley Climate will automatically be updated when collected and returned, helping engineers to see due dates and rental costs. Engineers can also see which gasses they currently have stocks of, as well as who has each cylinder and the remaining weights in each. Thousands attend Virtual Trade Show The world’s first 24-hour global online trade show for natural refrigerant technologies saw thousands of industry professionals connect live with suppliers. Organised by clean cooling accelerator shecco, the event attracted 77 suppliers and promoters and, by the close, 4,232 people frommore than 1,500 organisations had registered, with 2,359 people joining the Virtual Trade Show live. Marc Chasserot, CEO of shecco, said: “We made history in the cooling industry with an event that for the first time connected stakeholders around the world over a 24- hour period to learn about the latest natural refrigerant systems.” shecco plans to hold a follow-up event, VTS 2.0, in February 2021. The future is natural, page 20.
