At 68, it’s a late rather than early retirement and Tom said: “With the Covid situation, this felt like the right time to do some di‚erent things. I’ve loved my job and Pump House have been excellent with me. But my wife has been saying I should think about retiring for a few years now, so we hope to do some travelling and spend more time with the grandchildren, as well as tackling all those DIY jobs that have been on the list!’’ Tom entered the industry in the early 1990s as Product Manager with BAR Refrigeration in Rotherham, selling RSI Recovery machines via RAC wholesalers. In 1994, he joined ITE Tools as the UK Sales and Product Manager, selling a wide range of RAC tools and service equipment. In 2007, he joined American HVAC distributor and manufacturer DiversiTech as UK Product Manager working closely with its then UK distribution partner, Pump House, to grow sales in the UK. Following the acquisition of Pump House by DiversiTech in 2016, he became part of the Pump House team as a Sales Manager with the Flexi Roof Support Division and, most recently, as an Area Sales Manager. Dave Bass, Managing Director of Pump House, said: “I have known Tom since the early days when he would visit me at Controls Center in Birmingham to help sell the ITE range with great success. Tom has always had time for people and has been a great advocate in this industry, helping to train and increase people’s product knowledge and awareness in everything he has sold. It has been a pleasure working alongside Tom over the last 13 years and I wish him a long, happy and healthy retirement.’’ Tom calls time on 30-year career Samsung’s model sales team Samsung Climate Solutions wanted to say a little thank you to customers during the lockdown restrictions… and sent out 3D figurines of sales sta‚ as a reminder of what they looked like. Marketing Manager Jon Brigly explained: “As a thank you to our customers and a reminder that even though we haven’t been able to visit them in person we are still there to support them, we sent them a few gift items. “The first was a t-shirt with the strapline ‘I know it’s tough but don’t hug me!’ to be worn as a friendly reminder to their customers to observe the social distancing guidelines. The second item was a 3D printed model of their sales manager, an idea that came from Andrew Faulkner, Commercial Manager. As it’s been a while since we’ve been able to meet face-to-face we wanted to send our customers a little reminder of what we look like. Our contact details are also engraved on the base to let them know we are there for a chat.” “We are currently working on the third and final gift package to be sent out shortly, so keep an eye out. “We’d like to say thank you to all our customer for working with us and we look forward to seeing them soon.’’ CMYK / .ai CMYK / .ai CMYK / .ai acrjournal.uk CHILLY CHATTER 43 Nate-James Bray with the customised machine NATE A BIG DRAW FOR CHILDREN’S CHARITY A lockdown project for the 11-year-old son of Bradley Bray, Director of air conditioning and refrigeration distributor Evomart, has raised £600 for a children’s charity. Nate-James Bray used his artistic skills to customise a CPS Products recovery machine at Evomart in Aldermaston, near Reading, and photographs of the design on social media created such interest that it was decided to ra¥e the unit in aid of Naomi House and Jacks Place hospices in Winchester, Hampshire. The winner was Damon Butler, who ordered on behalf of CPS Products. Naomi House & Jacksplace is a homely environment for children and young adults with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. It provides individualised specialist care and respite for the whole family and it costs £9 million per year to keep them open. Nate-James created and edited a video to showcase the project, which can be viewed here: https://lnkd.in/dhUNb9D The 3D models sent out by Samsung Climate Solutions
