At just 150mm high, the new Idrofan 42EP range of ducted horizontal FCUs is said to be the slimmest of its kind available. It can be installed in buildings with very low-height ceiling voids and under-floor applications, saving space and enabling developers to maximise property and rental values. The unit has noise ratings as low as NR22, making it suitable for use in residential and hotel applications. It is also ideal for use in commercial o‡ces, where similar space constraints and expectations for high performance increasingly apply. The ultra-slimline profile was made possible by a number of design innovations, including a new patented internal lay-out that incorporates a split supply and return chamber before the cooling coil. Options include two-pipe and four-pipe versions, oŠering heating between 1kW to 4.3kW and cooling 0.8kW to 2.5kW. www.carrieraircon.co.uk PLC SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR RDM HVACR CONTROLLERS Programmable logic controller (PLC) software TDB provides the user with the capability to create custom control algorithms for any BMS application, including HVAC, refrigeration, lighting and much more. With software license lasting for the lifetime of the product, unlimited users, no annual fees, and free-to-download desktop editing software, it is a stand-out PLC software option from Resource Data Management (RDM). It is built in as standard on a range of RDM’s PLCs, designed for use in BMS, HVAC and refrigeration applications. This includes the Intuitive TDB controller, small format Mini Intuitive TDB controller and TouchXL TDB Controller featuring a 10” colour touch display. The latest TDB software update expands the functionality and connectivity of RDM’s PLCs even further. The host of new features include an optional secondary IP network adapter, new Modbus adapter communication settings and enhanced user access settings Sales@resourcedm.com +44 (0) 141 810 2828 www.resourcedm.com FOOT PEDAL OPENING IN COLDROOMS Williams Refrigeration has introduced a foot- operated door opener that is compatible with its modular coldrooms. It allows staŠ to enter the room without having to touch the door with their hands and Williams believes it to be the first of its kind for coldroom applications. The stainless steel pedal operates a lever to open the door to the coldroom and the system incorporates a clip that holds the door latch open, so that the handle doesn’t need to be touched at all. The new unit does not aŠect the thermal integrity of the coldroom and by reducing touch points it helps to meet the heightened hygiene standards that are an important part of the response to the Covid-19 pandemic. “The new foot-operated opener is going to make life easier for staŠ, and help them maintain stringent hygiene standards,” says Malcolm Harling, Sales and Marketing Director of Williams. “The fact that it can be retro- fitted to existing Williams coldrooms is an important benefit, too.” www.williams-refrigeration.co.uk YOUR IDEAL CHILLER PARTNERS • Intelligent Cooling Specialists • Trade discounts • Flexible Warranty Agreements • Proven Product quality • FGas Registered • Confidentiality assured • Reliable deliveries • 30 years established • Installation services if required.
