December 2021 | January 2022 Volume 8 No.1 CHANGING FACES 44 JACK GOVERS, CEO, A-GAS GROUP Jack Govers has been appointed chief executive officer of the A-Gas Group to lead and deliver the refrigerant specialist’s plans for further growth, sustainability and operational business excellence. He previously worked at GE, SABIC, Aleris and Novelis where he is said to have delivered exceptional growth, introduced circular economy initiatives and worked closely with private equity investors. Govers said: “I am joining A-Gas at an exciting time for the business as it continues on its environmental journey and plans for growth into new markets and regions. The company has built an outstanding reputation for almost 30 years and I look forward to being a part of what is to come.” Andrew Ambrose , who has been CEO for more than seven years, moves into the role of executive chairman, continuing to work on the global leadership team on a full-time basis. His expertise in transformation, leadership and customer relationships will be a perfect fit for the A-Gas values and vision for the future.” www.agas.com Dougie Stoddart retires fromHubbard Products Hubbard Products commercial director Dougie Stoddart has retired following 34 years of continuous service. Managing director Ilias Katsoulis said: “Dougie’s contributions have been significant and meaningful. We have relied on Dougie’s leadership and insights in shaping and building our management team. Dougie has been a popular mentor and his pragmatic approach has been a consistent factor through his decades with the company.” Dougie joined Hubbard Taylor Group in June 1987 as regional sales manager. In 1996 he was appointed brewery manager for sales of cellar cooling systems and then made commercial manager responsible for all Hubbard Products Commercial business in 2001. He was appointed commercial director in April 2008. Reflecting on his career, Dougie remembered all of his colleagues, in particular the late Ray Netherclift, who was his mentor. He also commented that he enjoyed his many years as manager for brewery products, involving visiting numerous breweries and the need to sample and understand their products. Scott Kavanagh will now take the role of head of commercial business, having joined Hubbard Products from the Carter Thermal Industries Group. RYAN MOONEY, SERVICE ENGINEER, CONDAIR Humidity control specialist Condair has appointed Ryan Mooney as a humidifier service engineer based out of London. Ryan has many years’ experience in the building services and environmental control sectors having worked at companies including Aqua Compliance Services and Certifact. Tony Tullett, service director at Condair, said: “We are very happy to welcome Ryan to the service team and are proud to be expanding our nationwide network of engineers to 18.
