Unlike competing products, DMTouch is based upon open communications and, after appropriate activation, can communicate with third-party protocols and HVACR devices, including Ethernet IP, BACnet, Modbus, Fibre and more – giving users the option to integrate with existing HVACR equipment, minimising both install time and costs. Available with a wide range of accessories, expansion modules, energy saving features and display options, DMTouch is fully customisable, giving customers the option to create a cost-e ective solution that specifically matches their needs and to not pay for features that they do not require. We also o er PLC editing and system layout software that do not incur annual license fees. All of this, combined with the competitive price point, make it a stand-out option. Backed by Resource Data Management’s industry-leading five- year warranty, DMTouch gives users the peace of mind that they have a robust solution that will keep HVACR assets and controls safe, helping to minimise any disruptions to operations or service delivery, which is why it is trusted by the world’s leading companies. sales@resourcedm.com +44 (0) 0141 810 2828 www.resourcedm.com LG ROUND CASSETTE FOR MULTI V VRF The LG Round Cassette for Multi V VRF systems is now available in the UK and is said to o er benefits where the aesthetics of the installation are important such as in cafes, restaurants, high-end retail stores and hotels. The cassette was the winner of a 2019 Red Dot Design Award. The judges said: “The design of this air conditioning system has placed special emphasis on projecting an elegant design and easy installation. Its flat, round body and diamond-shaped openings turn the device into a spatial object with a strong character that sets accents in modern living environments. Tubes and pipes are integrated into a single installation cover, which greatly simplifies the installation of the air conditioning system on the ceiling.” Bundling the drain pipe and refrigerant pipe together in one place is said to reduce installation time, whilst the control box allows for the power supply cables to be fitted from the side of the unit. The new cassette, which connects to the entire Multi V outdoor range, o ers powerful and quiet air flow. Its 3D fan increases airflow by 5% over traditional 4-way cassettes, and noise reduction technology makes for a quieter more comfortable space – with sound levels of 39 dB(a) and is supplied with a deodorising filter as standard. partner.lge.com/uk J GENERATION AQUAREA R32 MONOBLOC PACKS A PUNCH Panasonic Heating and Cooling has announced the latest addition to its Aquarea air-to-water heat pump range – the J Generation Monobloc with R32 refrigerant. Aimed at new installations and low energy homes, the heat pump is said to pack a high-performance system into a compact outdoor unit. The advanced outdoor system provides residential projects with both hot water (DHW), heat for radiators and underfloor heating in a range of capacities available, from 5kW to 9kW. The range adapts the system to the needs of the space, as it can reach up to 60°C water outlet even at -10°C outdoor temperature. The new J Generation delivers a higher capacity in heating of up to +25%, and in cooling up to +30%. The Aquarea range is said to ensure an ecient, environmentally friendly solution, even in temperatures as low as -20°C. As well as providing heating and hot water, it can deliver cooling in the summer. The system is compatible with the Aquarea Smart Cloud for end-users to remotely control the full range of heating and cooling functions, and can also be connected to the Aquarea Service Cloud to allow installers to remotely access their customer’s heating and cooling systems. www.aircon. panasonic.eu BARKELL LAUNCHES LIGHTGUARD CLEANING Air handling specialist Barkell has announced the launch of LightGuard, a UV coil cleaning solution, to aid companies concerned about the safety of occupied buildings in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. UV disinfection systems are coming to the forefront of the battle against Covid-19 and being deployed in airports, hospitals, personal hygiene systems and now air handling units. LightGuard uses UV-C radiation at a wavelength of 264nm, invisible to the human eye but extremely e ective at disinfection. UV-C can inactivate microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses and fungi by preventing them from infecting and replicating. The UV-C lamps are installed downstream of the cooling coil and use a photon concentrator which focuses up to 95% of the UV energy produced onto the coil. Installation is simple and the lamps are low energy, providing an all-round cost-e ective solution. The lamps require replacing only once a year, cutting maintenance costs due to removing or greatly reducing the need for normal coil cleaning regimes. The lamps prevent the build-up of biofilm, a sticky microbial mass found on HVAC coils, drain pans, and ductwork. It is secreted by communities of microorganisms, bacteria, moulds, and fungi that naturally gather in HVAC systems. www.barkell.co.uk he guide to what’s new for ACR Journal readers.
