www.potatoreview.com POTATO REVIEW NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2022 41 MACHINERY New UK Dealer for Dezeure WHITTLESEY-based AgVantage UK Ltd machinery dealer and Belgian specialist trailer manufacturer Dezeure have entered into a partnership whereby AgVantage will now import Dezeure’s product range to supply UK- based customers. AgVantage already supplies the full line of Dewulf, Miedema and Dammann brands and the latest move will see the UK company becoming an authorised distributor of the full Dezeure product range. Dezeure was founded in 1947 and has been producing specialist trailers and tankers since 1970. Still a privately owned company, the third generation of the family took over in 2015. Earlier this year it opened a new purpose-built 15,000 square metre factory designed to keep up with an ever-rising product demand. It currently produces 250 units per year. AgVantage Founder and Managing Director Andy Carse said: “ e Dezeure brand isn’t very well known yet in the UK, but across Europe and the rest of the world it has an excellent reputation for build quality and reliability.” Siel Himpens of Dezeure said: “We believe there are many progressive farmers in the UK and therefore it is an important market for us. We were looking for a specialist dealer to import our products, not a traditional dealer selling many di erent products, we needed someone that can give us focus and the attention we need, in sales and after sales.” Digger additions ADDITIONS to digger ranges have been introduced by machinery manufacturer AVR. A digging unit with large, driven discs (900 mm diameter) is now available for the Spirit 7200, the Spirit 9200 and the Lynx while an additional keypad has been added to the Puma 4.0 digging unit. For machines with an ACC digging unit, an extra keypad has been added in the cab next to the main display. is makes it easier, for example, to manually adjust the left or right cylinder in spray tracks or to reverse the direction of rotation of the torpedo. AI-driven Sort- to-Grade KEY Technology has introduced AI-driven Sort-to-Grade® (STG) which, when used with digital sorters, will enable potato processors to eliminate traditional mechanical length graders. Advanced AI algorithms allow STG for potato strips to digitally resolve clumps of overlapping product and better identify the individual strips, which maximises its precision in measuring the length of each strip on the production line. STG recognises and categorises every surface defect and the length of every individual strip to make each accept/ reject decision based on how it will impact the ‘in the bag’ grade, as de ned by the processor. Length pro les can be changed in seconds via the sorter’s touchscreen UI. By digitallymonitoring the length of every strip on the line, processors can rely on an AI-driven STG-enabled sorter to analyze the length pro le of potato strips immediately prior to packaging and forgo taking physical samples o the line for length analysis using a separate device. Additionally, the length data collected by AI-enhanced STG can be used to improve line performance and/or generate reports that verify the length pro le of each batch. e sorter can collect, analyse and share data to reveal patterns and trends that help control upstream and downstream processes. e new AI-driven STG is an option available on every new Key digital sorter for potato strips including VERYX, and it is available as a eld upgrade for most installed Key potato strip sorters.
