AGTECH T RINITY AgTech has launched an enhanced module within its natural capital navigation tool, Sandy, to help growers optimise nitrogen use and reduce nitrate leaching in real-time. Utilising more than 300 data points, the module has the potential to protect water through a substantial reduction in nitrate leaching and reduce costs by analysing each farm and eld’s nitrogen uptake e ciency on a daily basis, the company states. Having already been adopted by farms across Europe, UK farm trials have indicated improvements in terms of nancial savings and e ciency as well as farm sustainability. Dr Milad Toolabi, Director of arti cial intelligence-machine learning (AI-ML) advanced analytics at Trinity AgTech, said: “Reducing nitrogen usage also reduces carbon dioxide equivalent emissions from fertiliser applications, which signi cantly improves a farm’s sustainability or carbon score.” Sandy connects information already gathered from the farm, such as soil data, regionality, crop information, application and management practices, alongside external metrics including weather data, to enable farmers to make real-time, evidence-based decisions. “Integrating with farm management software such as Gatekeeper and Muddyboots, farmers can use Sandy to map out the nancial and environmental impact of immediate and future farm decisions,” said Milad. Kramp’s new tool uses arti cial intelligence to scan and analyse an object in a photo. Currently still in a beta version, the recognition engine tries to match the object against more than 500,000 items from the Kramp catalogue. If the user has an account with Kramp, the parts can be ordered immediately for next-day delivery to a dealer. e app will also scan barcodes and can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. App to aid with spare parts orders Easier assurance records as app adds new feature F IELD and farm management app eldmargin has added new features to help users comply with assurance schemes and regulatory requirements. Records can now be annotated with weather, the start and nish times for each task, and the operator or team member who carried it out. e new features, now available on eldmargin’s web, iOS and Android apps allow users to record wind speed, direction, temperature and other weather factors for each eld task completed. Start and nish times for each operation can also be added, while the app will also record which user was responsible for completion of each task. Founded in the UK in 2014, eldmargin is used by farmers in more than 170 countries, from Australia to Zimbabwe. Other recent new features include a cost-tracking tool, sub- eld recording and nutrient management tools. Crop pesticide checking is in development.
