PEOPLE MODERN BUILDING SERVICES MAY 2023 7 PEOPLE BPMA welcomes its new Director and CEO Wayne Rose has officially become the new Director and CEO of the British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA), following the retirement of his longstanding predecessor, Steve Schofield. Wayne joined the BPMA in January and spent the following three months shadowing Steve, in what was an essential handover period. Having previously spent 24 years in various management roles at Manchester based Armstrong Fluid Technology, Wayne brings with him a wealth of pump industry experience. Reporting to the Board, and assisted by Gary Wild as Technical Officer and Steve Smith as Associate Director, Wayne will assume commercial responsibility for the day-to-day running of the organisation, whilst also engaging with the elected members of the BPMA Council. New Technical Support and Training Engineer at Distech Controls Distech Controls™ is delighted to announce that Sophie Kay Neale has been appointed to lead the Technical Support and Training team in the UK and Ireland. Sophie will provide Distech Controls’ customers with technical, product and training support across the country and in Ireland. Having worked as a system integrator (SI) within the BMS (Building Management Systems) industry for over 20 years, Sophie has valuable experience and unique insights that she can bring to her new role. During her career, Sophie has worked in service, installation and project engineer positions as well as taking on project manager and operations manager responsibilities. She has worked for small and large SI companies delivering solutions for a variety of commercial buildings, from rural projects through to office buildings in Canary Wharf. Sophie will be running a full, face-to-face training programme for Distech Controls customers at the UK office in Buckinghamshire. The courses cover the ECLYPSE solution, and the company can also offer bespoke training for companies and teams. Gemma Joins AliMet Fabrications A new appointment to AliMet Fabrications will see its first husband and wife team at the company. Gemma Morris has taken up the role of Sales Co- ordinator, joining spouse Anthony who is General Manager for Pressed Metals. Gemma’s job involves status managing all live projects to ensure that orders are sent to production and dispatched within timeframes, alongside managing relationships with new and potential customers. Steve Marshall, Managing Director of AliMet Fabrications, welcomed Gemma to the team: “It is wonderful to have Gemma on board. She will no doubt become the ‘glue’ that the company needs right now as it continues to grow and develop key commercial partnerships.” NG Bailey appoints Jonathan Stockton to Chief Operating Officer role NG Bailey has appointed Jonathan Stockton to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Clare Salmon, previously Group Financial Controller, has been promoted to Group Finance Director. As COO, Jonathan will oversee and optimise the Group’s operational capabilities and administration, alongside developing and implementing key business strategies. Jonathan will also continue as a Group Board Director. Jonathan has played a key role alongside Chief Executive David Hurcomb and the NG Bailey Board in driving the Group’s growth agenda, which included several successful acquisitions within the services business. In her new role Clare joins the Group Operating Executive. Clare will manage the financial integrity and day-to-day performance of the business to support and build on the company’s solid financial position. J S Wright appoints Head of Procurement Birmingham-based mechanical and electrical services specialist J S Wright has appointed Tony Maxwell as its new Head of Procurement. Tony will be responsible for all operational and strategic procurement management including reviewing and negotiating trading agreements, sourcing best-quality sustainable and environmental products and supplier services, and maintaining and building relations with existing and new suppliers. Based at J S Wright’s London office in Euston, Tony will lead a procurement team that includes experienced M&E buyers and hirers. He will also join a head office team in Aston that is in the process of digitising the business practices and operations of J S Wright and its sister company Wright Maintenance to enhance operational efficiencies and compliance.
