Huw joins Passivent with over 25 years’ experience, including specific expertise in the design and development of natural ventilation systems, filtration and evaporative air cooling systems, and will become a valuable contact for specifiers working across a wide range of sectors and project types. A key part of Huw’s role will be supporting Passivent’s in-house estimating team to provide architects, consultants, engineers and contractors with the technical calculations and advice they need to create compliant and cost-effective natural and hybrid ventilation strategies. Throughout his career, Huw has gained a detailed understanding of the ventilation requirements for commercial, industrial and residential buildings and will work closely with Passivent’s technical and sales team to build on the company’s successful work across the education sector and other markets. Huw’s expertise also includes the development of control strategies to ensure that the chosen ventilation systems operate at their maximum efficiency to help reduce both costs and operational carbon. www.passivent.com Changes announced toBCIAManagement Committee The Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) has announced changes to its Management Committee, with the addition of newmembers Jen Vickers, Ron Purcell and Jason Harper, while thanking RichardMeacham and SimonWard who have both left the Committee after serving their three year tenure. The BCIA has also welcomed back RobWood as Chair of the SkillsWorking Group and would like to thankWendy Belfield for covering the role on an interimbasis for the past fewmonths. The BCIA is run by its members for its members and appointment to the Management Committee is by election. Members are however encouraged to participate in theMarketing,Technical andSkillsWorkingGroupswhichenable the BCIA to tackle particular issues and projects in a focused way. Jen Vickers is a Document Engineer for Crown House Technologies, part of Laing O’Rourke, and works within Enterprise Solutions which delivers specialist systems including BEMS. Ron Purcell is an experienced controls and BMS engineer and advocate for smart buildings and controls with 40 years’ industry experience. He is an active member of CIBSE and holds an HNC in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Jason Harper has been involved in the BMS industry since leaving school.
