Paul brings extensive cable management expertise to the team having worked in the industry for more than 30 years. He began his career in sales at Vantrunk and has since held senior business development roles at companies, including Mita and Cablofil. At Hudson, Paul will be responsible for growing the group’s newly launched business, Milton, which specialises in corrosive and hazardous cable management. Milton has recently agreed a partnership with the Wibe Group to distribute Mita’s GRP cable management products and Wibe steel cable ladder systems to the UK. Milton joins two other companies that form part of Hudson, including RMS, a specialist offsite manufacturer of cable management solutions, and Armorduct, a manufacturer of standard and bespoke cable management systems. www.hudsoncmg.com J SWright appoints two newAssociate Directors Mechanical and electrical building services provider J SWright has promoted two of its Senior Managers to Associate Directors. Simon Bevin has been appointed Associate Director – IT&Support Services, while David Bradbury has taken up the role of Associate Director – Design, both based at the Aston headquarters of the 133-year-old Birminghambusiness. Simon joined J SWright in 2007 as a CAD Technician and rose to CADManager and then CAD & ITManager, having been successfully involved in a number of challenging technological projects. David Bradbury joined J S Wright in 2014 as a Senior Design Engineer before being promoted to Design Manager. The mechanical engineering graduate is a fully accredited Heat Network Consultant and was recently made a Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers. Established in Birmingham in 1890, J S Wright designs, manufactures, and installs mechanical and electrical services for the hotel, residential, social housing, student accommodation, leisure, and commercial sectors. Its sister company Wright Maintenance provides a facilities maintenance service. www.jswright.co.uk John Carter appointed newCEO of STARK BuildingMaterials UK Ltd Former CEO Mike Newnham has decided to step down when Saint-Gobain Building Distribution UK becomes part of STARK Group A/S. John Carter replaces Mike Newnham. John Carter has been working in the building materials merchant and distribution business for more than 40 years. He’s worked his way frommanagement trainee to Chief Executive Officer of Travis Perkins plc, a FTSE 250 builders’ merchant and home improvement retailer with 1,900 outlets. Since 2019, he has been working in management consulting. When joining STARK Building Materials UK Ltd. as CEO, John Carter becomes a member of STARK Group’s Executive Committee (ExCom). James Hargreaves plans ahead with Boardroom changes The UK’s largest independent plumbing merchant has announced a series of ‘progressive changes’ at Boardroom level. James Hargreaves (Plumbers Merchant) Ltd, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, has promoted Carl Bridge to Managing Director. Previously the Purchasing Director, Mr Bridge succeeds Gordon Rothwell, whose family has owned the company since 1968. Mr Rothwell has decided to retire as MD, but will continue as company Chairman. There is a promotion too for Gary Beaumont, who has stepped up to Sales Director from Regional Director. Bill Davies, who held the role of Sales Director for 13 years, has delayed his retirement to take on the new part-time position of Commercial Director. The firm’s two other Regional Directors, Martin Healy and Simon Jackson, have been appointed National Branch Directors for the Western and Eastern regions, respectively. James Hargreaves has made huge strides in recent years and now has 70 Plumbing Supplies branches across England and a Luxury Bathroom Showroom in Burnley. The company also recently invested £500,000 in a Low Carbon Centre and training facility at its Burnley headquarters. New appointments build on a great start to the year Thermal insulation specialist Seymour Manufacturing International (SMI) has announced a series of new appointments on the back of a record-breaking start to the year. The Telford-based company recorded its best combined January and February sales, with orders for thermal curtains, covers, liners and bespoke products fromacross the UK and overseas. To build on the success, SMI has restructured its senior team as it prepares to launch a series of new products into the market during 2023. Kirsty Murrell is now Operations Manager and Health & Safety Officer, Ross Clarke has been appointed Business Development Manager, and Chris Davies is now Sales Manager – with particular responsibility for leading on SMI business in Ireland. Gemma Elsmore-Roberts’ accounts role has been expanded to include Quality Officer, due to the immense amount of work involved with ISO compliance, and Matt Weaver has been recognised as Warehouse Engineer.
