07 NEWS BUSINESS AS USUAL AT TITAN ENGINEERING Titan Engineering says it is business as usual despite di culties posed by the coronavirus pandemic. The company has plentiful stocks in its warehouse and its suppliers in Europe are all open and reported to be working normally. Titan, which celebrates 40 years of business this year, believes it is one of the most respected names in commercial and industrial refrigeration, based on its technical engineering expertise. Managing Director Ed Wright said: “Since its inception. Titan has built up a reputation for supplying engineering solutions and products, especially in the field of ammonia and CO2 refrigeration systems, and for delivering products on time.” Titan has developed a wide range of valves, shell and tube heat exchangers, condensers, pumps and pressure vessels, which enables it to satisfy a widely di„ering range of refrigeration applications. These products are sourced from companies like Robinet Frigorifique Français, Onda Spa and TH Witt and Titan also has available a full range of Reflex refrigeration hoses and fittings. Ed Wright of Titan Engineering Aermec’s smart approach beats lockdown More companies are taking advantage of Aermec’s factory acceptance testing (FAT) of equipment by video link, to beat the constraints of the UK’s lockdown as a result of the coronavirus crisis. Equinix, one of the world’s largest data centre and co-location service providers, is the latest company to use the facility. Like Aermec, it is committed to the health and safety of employees, whilst ensuring minimal disruption for its customers. By collaborating with Aermec, Equinix is taking advantage of video technologies, and carrying out witness testing of glycol free chillers for one of its mission critical data centre sites. In line with the current Italian government guidelines, which permits the testing of products that have been designated of primary necessity, Aermec is monitoring the real time test screen at its factory in Italy. A live link into the test cell enables Equinix to take part, multiple cameras provided accurate streaming and enables data to be viewed as it comes through. “FAT testing remotely is not only helping us and our customers to beat the restrictions resulting from the pandemic, it is a smarter and more sustainable way of working,” comments Paul Lawrence, Managing Director, Aermec UK. “Our customers are able to experience and fully participate just as if they were in our factory in Italy. Aermec is e„ectively bringing FAT tests to the customers rather than the customer to the testing laboratories.’’ CMYK / .ai CMYK / .ai CMYK / .ai acrjournal.uk HRS2020 golf cancelled The coronavirus pandemic has forced the cancellation of the HRS2020 Golf Tournament, which was scheduled for July 2. Hanwell monitoring helps in testing times Hanwell Solutions has been contributing its expertise to the national collaboration between the UK’s leading manufacturers, to ensure that testing laboratories get the viable samples they need in the battle to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The UK manufacturer of wireless environmental monitoring equipment is focusing on its ShockWatch product range of temperature indicators, for tracking the environmental conditions during both transport and storage of samples required for the hundreds of thousands of test kits needed by labs for diagnosis. Diagnostic testing kits are reliant on samples remaining at the correct temperatures during shipment and storage to ensure the maximum time span for viability. The colder a sample is kept during transportation and storage, the greater the amount of time the lab has to do the test before the sample becomes non-viable. If the sample has been transported at a higher temperature and for a longer time the virus in the sample could be dead by the time the lab does the test. Hanwell is recommending the use of the WarmMark monitoring system, a single-use, ascending time-temperature indicator which alerts users of exposure to unacceptable temperature conditions through a coloured window system on a single card.
