ECOLITE condensing units are the solution for reliable low andmedium temperature cooling applications.Their plug and play concept supports overallmonitoring and boosts optimal usability. The sevenmodels are suited for operation in different climate zones, allowing flexibility due to the VARISTEP capacity control and sophisticated controller functions. Thanks to low-noise and solid design, the ECOLITE series can be integrated into an urban environment. The product family is also approved for low GWP A2L refrigerants. That contribution has never been more important, as the planet battles to find a way back from the crippling e¢ects of the coronavirus pandemic. While many sectors have been e¢ectively mothballed, refrigeration has continued to play a vital role in so many areas; maintaining food supplies via the cold chain and supporting critical medical services. Service engineers, contractors, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors have all played their part, alongside bodies such as REFCOM who have worked tirelessly to provide guidance and advice to both members and the wider industry. Finding a way back will not be easy but one ray of hope is that recovery investment could have a greener focus. Climate change emissions across the world have fallen dramatically, largely as a result of the reduced number of journeys by road and air. But there are other factors to consider. In Paris, CO2 emissions were down by 72% in March, while in New York the reduction was just 10%, a discrepancy which has been largely attributed to the di¢erent way the two cities heat their buildings. Let’s hope that comparisons such as this can underline the need for sustainable solutions such as heat pumps and other renewables, because it is an unfortunate reality that, in the long term, the climate change crisis is as serious a threat to the planet as coronavirus.
