Originally scheduled for April 23, it is hoped the event – at The Brewery in London and with Kevin Keegan as guest speaker – will serve as a celebration of industry’s contribution in key areas. FETA Chief Executive Russell Beattie said: “We have all been living through truly extraordinary times and we have been trying to provide as much support as possible to both our members and the Government. Our sector has played a significant role in support to the vital national infrastructure and we are exceptionally proud of all our many ‘Key Workers’ and the selfless work they have done. We very much hope that the re- scheduled Lunch in December will be seen as a celebration of all that is good in our industry.” www.feta.co.uk German fan manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg put its technological capabilities to work in the battle against coronavirus by creating face masks on 3D printers and handed them over to Hohenlohe District Administrator Dr Matthias Neth. An employee had been sent a set of build instructions via social media and the following morning Ziehl-Abegg sent a photo of the first face masks to the crisis team in the local administration o–ce. Once it gave the go-ahead, both the company’s 3D printers went to work at the Künzelsau InVent Development Centre. Ziehl-Abegg CEO Peter Fenkl said: “Our employees and their families work and live here – so naturally we provide them with as much support as we can, particularly during a crisis such as this. We’re pleased about being able to help employees in the health and care sector in this way.” The masks manufactured at Ziehl-Abegg using 3D printers Ziehl-Abegg produces face masks using 3D printers ALAN KIRKHAM RETIRES AFTER 50-YEAR CAREER Beijer Ref UK Commercial Director Alan Kirkham retired in May after an industry career spanning 50 years.
