The event, which took place at Mere Golf Resort & Spa almost two months after originally scheduled, saw tournament winners receive accolades but no prizes. Instead, money usually spent on prizes was donated to The Care Workers’ Charity which provides support and guidance to those working in the care sector and whose dedication has been so vital over these past few challenging months. Neil Gibbard, Managing Director of Coolair Equipment Limited, said: “I am thrilled we were eventually able to host our annual Nick Parker Golf Day. While it might not have been the big event we had originally planned, it was a very enjoyable day and gave Coolair staŒ the chance to reconnect with the clients who have continued to support us.” The event was organised by Coolair’s Paul Evans, a Senior Sales and Design Engineer. He said: “We have worked with Mere Golf and Spa for many years now and the whole team who looked after us have excelled themselves. "Due to changing government guidelines the event had to be pulled together at very short notice and every possible eŒort was made to ensure that everyone attending was safe and comfortable.” Coolair golf day raises more than £2,500 for key workers’ charity Grant gives young players a boost with kit sponsorship Devizes Town Youth Football Club’s Under 12 team for the 2020/21 season are being sponsored by Grant UK. Seven-year-old Edgar Vann was the lucky winner of an iPad for his idea, which was based on a solar powered system designed to save water by collecting rain water to use in place of mains water. Terry Sharp, BCIA President, said: “I was really impressed with the standard of entries, which have shown just how switched on many school children are about the environment. I would like to congratulate Edgar on his well- deserved win and thank everybody who took part in the competition.” Chilly chatter.indd 41 03/12/2020 12:00
