Marstair’s A2L cold room solution 33 Marstair has launched its new A2LsysteMatch solution for cold room applications, which it says is engineered to deliver a 93% reduction in system refrigerant GWP. With certainty on the charge level required at the specification stage, A2LsysteMatch is said to challenge current thinking. Commercial Director Andrew Crown said: “We are very proud to be launching a unique, innovative and pioneering solution for a more sustainable future in the commercial refrigeration sector. “A2LsysteMatch provides real, direct and indirect carbon savings for end users, in addition to a lower total cost of ownership than any other technology available. We shall be supporting installers nationwide with both application selection and risk assessment guidance, in order to make this a ‘step-change’ moment for both our sector and our environment.’’ Following investment in newly-built R&D testing facilities at Marstair’s UK manufacturing plant, eight months of comprehensive testing have been completed, ensuring A2LsysteMatch has been developed in accordance with BS EN 378: 2016 standards. Improved efficiency As a result, a range of condensing units and cold room evaporators are available, which can be mix-matched to suit specific room temperature requirements, with duty range of 1-6kW. Systems are also suitable for a variety of A2L refrigerants, including R454A, R454C and R455A. The refrigerant charge for any system match with a known pipe run can easily be calculated, meaning A2LsysteMatch can easily be selected giving clients confidence that their selection can be applied safely and in compliance with regulations. A2LsysteMatch is said to be the only complete system solution on A2L refrigerant for cold rooms. Installed using standard controllers, it is also suitable for applications with up to 80m pipe runs, and requires no extra safety measures. To support this, Marstair also provides a DSEAR risk assessment template within its instructions giving best practice installation guidance to installers. Marstair adds that the new systems are 3% more eœcient than its already-eœcient ECO design certified and ETL listed range of condensing units, and come with a 5-year parts warranty as standard.
