T he NPI Awards were organized by Warners Group plc, the publisher of Potato Review and now to be held every two years, alongside BP2019. P ublisher Juliet Loiselle, who announced the awards andwelcomed everyone to the event, said she had been heartened by the enthusiasmshown from the industry, and the quality of the nominations. “ We’ve been told there are plenty of others out there that deserve recognition and, now that we’ve shown the way with the first awards, we’ve already got people asking when the next ones are and how they set about nominating someone,” she said. “While a few people wondered if it would become an annual event, we think, for now, it will continue to be bi-annual so it can be held alongside the very successful British Potato event, while allowing a couple of years for new innovations to get off the ground that we can then review and look to reward. “ We’re grateful to everyone who took the time to put forward nominations, as well as those who joined us on the night.” I f you would like to give feedback on the NPI Awards, including which parts you enjoyed most, any areas that deserve further industry recognition, or just general information about the event and venue, please visit the Potato Review website at www.potatoreview.com .. 20 POTATO REVIEW JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2020 Feedback form D id you attend the National Potato Awards 2019?
